Reddit has effectively written off the domain and brought back access for thousands of its users after a platform down on Thursday morning. According to reports, the disruption took approximately an hour and it was reported to have started from around 10 a.m. ET.
Reddit Recovers from Brief Outage, Impacting Thousands
The problem impacted over 70,000 users in the US, based on tracker Downdetector.com, which tracks service outages. Redditors complained of the site’s unavailability on web browsers and the app during the height of the outage.
Reddit even acknowledged the same on its status page and said that this problem was being worked on with considerable speed as well. The platform has since resumed back to normalcy and user accounts are now accessible without disruption.
Of course, outages on the most used social media platforms are fairly common, however, this one left many people annoyed. Reddit’s technical team responded proactively turning their eyes into the heart of the problem while no concrete cause has been named so far.
This latest outage serves as a reminder of the just how reliant many people are on Reddit for news, discussions on current issues and content. However, after a brief hiatus, Reddit is still one of the most visited social networking sites in the world.
Reddit Resolves Instability After Software Bug Fix
Reddit has had new platform instability after a recent update which led to negative results from the software. As the issue arose when the software updated the program, the company apologized to users that could no longer access the site.
As it turns out, Reddit reported the integration had produced instability due to the most recent update, which was rolled back immediately to return service to its regular state. This appears to have helped in bringing the platform back to its normal functionalities it had before.
The problems emerged after Reddit rolled out a patch for another unrelated software glitch that was stopping countless numbers of its users from accessing their accounts. But the new update got into the creation of instability, thus impacting site performance.
Reddits technical team was able to cope with the situation in a timely manner in order fix the erroneous update. For now, the platform is stable, and the number of interruptions has decreased since the fix came into action.
As you can see this latest series of technical issues have caused some frustration among the users but I believe Reddit has ensured that the effects are kept to a minimum. It is clearer now that the company will continue to work on improving operations’ smoothness, and it is paying close attention to the platform to detect additional hitches.
Reddit Confirms Latest Website Issue, Affecting Users
Reddit's status page confirmed a new issue that disrupted its website at 10:51 a.m. ET. The company recognized the issue, which is with regard to users who tried to access the platform during that period.
It has been preceded by a sequence of technical problems that recently happened to Reddit’s platform. Some of the challenges that the users faced in their usage of reddit include; the ability to reach certain subreddits, making comments, and engaging on reddit.
Reddit opened by Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian back in 2005 is still one of the most active social media. Because of its architecture users are able to submit direct links, post content, and discuss topics by interest in subreddits.
As millions of people visit this site, they coordinate in small communities, so it is a place where almost any news, entertainment, hobbies, and disputes can be found.
Though the problem has been solved, the latest problem implies the existing problems Reddit still has in ensuring the availability of its website. The company still follows the platform and worked on the last remaining bugs and glitches.
